Even during the busy football season, some players who are part of DGD Outdoors found time to continue their efforts to introduce kids to fishing. Recently Georgia football players Cade Brock, Drew Bobo and Will Snellings took 10 kids from Downtown Ministries out for a day of fishing at an Athens-area private pond.

“These kids have never experienced fishing before,” said DGD’s Cade Brock, a senior fullback (No. 44) from Chattooga County.

Cade started DGD Outdoors last year along with Dan Jackson, of Gainesville, (No. 17, senior defensive back) and Gunner Stockton, of Tiger, (No. 14, sophmore quarterback). It all got started as an informal network of Bulldogs who simply love the outdoors and landowners who allowed them opportunities to go hunting or fishing, and the DGG Outdoors idea grew from that as they began to take other football players and UGA athletes who had never hunted or fished before. It then expanded to introduce kids to the outdoors, like those with Downtown Ministries. Many GON readers met some of the UGA football players at the DGD Outdoors booth at the Ag-Pro Outdoor Blast in Emerson the last weekend in July.
