David Waller Named Game & Fish Director

As expected, David J. Waller has been named the new Director of the DNR Game and Fish Division. The Board of Natural Resources approved the appointment at its Aug. 29, 1990 meeting.

Waller succeeds current Director Leon Kirkland who retires later this year. Kirkland will assist in the transition.

Waller has a strong background in wildlife management. He has worked for DNR for 19 years and was previously assistant director of the Game and Fish Division. Before he joined the director’s staff in 1982, he worked as a field wildlife biologist in the Augusta area. He is a graduate of Middle Georgia College and the University of Georgia with a degree in wildlife management. David, his wife Connie and their two children live in Covington.
