Coyote Climbs Tree In Pursuit Of Raccoon

Brad Gill | October 8, 2020

I can’t say I ever recall getting a photo of a coyote off the ground in hot pursuit of any sort of game animal, but I guess I can scratch that off my list.

Kaylee Seabolt, of Dahlonega, reached out to GON through our Instagram account with a trail-camera photo of a coyote chasing a raccoon up a tree on some hunting property in Lumpkin County.

“We have a lot of coons over there,” said Kaylee.

Kaylee send a few other pictures (included below) from the same trail camera. It’s an area baited with corn to see what kind of deer they’ve got using the property. Kaylee said she enjoys hunting and recently killed her first deer with a bow, a 4-pointer, in Towns County.

“We didn’t see any sign that the coyote was successful in catching the coon,” said Kaylee. “When we got the picture, my boyfriend said, ‘You ought to send that to GON,'” said Kaylee.

We’re thankful y’all reached to us so that we can share more of the crazy things that happens in the woods when nobody is around.

When you come across interesting things in the woods, email [email protected]. or text 678.729.7366.

Kaylee Seabolt, of Dahlonga, sent us the above pictures. She also recently took her first bow deer, this Towns County 4-pointer.
