2022 Ag-Pro GON Outdoor Blast Events

We say it time and time again. The Ag-Pro GON Outdoor Blast is more than just super cool outdoor equipment at really great prices. It’s a place for all of us to gather and celebrate our passions for hunting, fishing and everything else outdoors. With that in mind, you will find plenty of unique events at the show.

Big Buck Wall Of Fame

The GON Whitetail Wall Of Fame display is open all weekend.

Nothing gets the juices flowing for opening day of deer season like 80 feet of big deer hanging on a wall. Along with some of the best bucks entered in last year’s Truck-Buck contest, you will find some of the most historic big bucks in the history of our state with Duncan Dobie’s Georgia’s Greatest Whitetails collection.

Gun-An- Hour Giveaway

Enter once and you’re good all day.

While looking at big deer hanging on a wall is really cool, it’s not nearly as cool as winning a free gun just for being at the Outdoor Blast. The Gun-An-Hour Giveaway is our way of giving back and making people happy. Every hour on the hour during the show throughout the weekend we will draw an attendee’s name at random and give them 30 minutes to come claim their gun. We have 21 hours of the show, and we’ll be bringing 21 guns. All you need to do is go to the Gun-An-Hour booth, fill out an entry form, show your paid entry bracelet to the staff and drop your entry into the hopper. We’ll put a small mark on your bracelet showing you have already entered. You stay eligible all day with that one entry. We start fresh each day and Friday is a great day to win a gun! Of course you’ll need to be of legal age and will have to go through the standard federal background check.

Snake Shows With Jason Clark Of Southeastern Reptile Rescue

Live SNAKES! Enough said.

Not only will Jason Clark be doing live snake shows on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, but the Southeastern Reptile Rescue trailer will be there all day, every day. During the live shows, Jason ties education into entertainment. You’ll get to see live snakes up close and personal as Jason gives you tips on how to identify snake species and how to tell the difference between venomous and non-venomous snakes. When the shows aren’t going on, you can stroll through his enclosed trailer to see more live snakes and other reptiles behind enclosed habitats. You’ll laugh, you’ll jump and you may even get to hold a snake!

GON Truck-Buck Shoot-Out

The Truck-Buck Shoot-Out is the finale of the Southeast’s premier big-buck contest that awards more than $75,000 in prizes. Each of these GON subscribers have already won a great prize package, but on Sunday afternoon at 3:30 one of them will win a brand-new Silverado from John Megel Chevrolet. Both shooters and all those who come to support them will be a bundle of nerves as one by one shooters advance to the next round in the John Megel Shoot-Out Arena. If you’ve never witnessed someone win a brand-new truck, this is your chance.

GON Youth Big-Buck Shoot-Out

Watch Friday at 6:00 p.m. as 17 youth hunters gather up and compete to win a $3,000 shopping spree at Adventure Outdoors and a Georgia Dream Hunt with our friends at Woods-N-Waters. Each of these hunters killed the largest buck of their week during Georgia’s last deer season. While only one shooter will win the Shoot-Out, each of our contestants will receive a soft-sided cooler from Rugged Road Outdoors, a portable gun vise from LockedOn 360 Mobile Gun Vise and a custom shooting jersey from Realtree. If you’ve never seen someone shoot a Mini Nilla Wafer with a BB gun from 25 feet, now’s you chance.

Fishing Demonstrations In A 3,000 Gallon Bass Tub

There will be fishing demonstrations throughout each day during the weekend.

We are always looking to bring something new to the Outdoor Blast and this year is no different. For the first time ever at the show we are bringing you one of the largest portable aquariums you’ve ever seen! Bass Tubs of Oklahoma will be setting up their 3,000-gallon tank and giving fishing demonstrations all weekend long. Looking through the glass is the easiest way to see how baits move and the techniques that are most successful to get bass to bite.

Georgia Drives Chevy Drive And Ride Event

The parking lot at the Outdoor Blast is covered up with trucks and why wouldn’t it be? Eventually you’ll be ready for that next one and Chevrolet makes it super easy for you to sample the latest models with their on-site Drive and Ride experience. All day on Saturday and Sunday attendees are able to sign up for free to take a test ride on the open roads of Emerson. There is no better way to see the latest technology built into the newest Chevy models.

APEX Competitions Awards Presentations

APEX is bringing big payouts to their members and you’ll have the chance to see it for yourself on Saturday, July 30 at 4:30 p.m. when awards are handed out to the Million Dollar Buck Bash winners from last deer season along with the winners of the 2022 Spring Turkey Bird Bash. Along with rewarding hunters APEX contributes a portion of their proceeds to benefit local Georgia conservation for both turkey and whitetail.

Free Deer Scoring

You know that deer hanging on the wall that has never been officially scored? Take that joker off the wall and bring it to the Outdoor Blast where certified Boone & Crockett scorers can pull a tape on it while you explore the show picking up gear you just can’t do without. Drop your deer off anytime during show hours Friday or Saturday but no later than 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 31. If you drop off antlers in the closing hours of the show on Friday or Saturday, you may not be able to pick your rack back up until the next day. This service is offered at no charge.

Yonah Invitational Turkey Calling Contest

How’s a trip to Nashville to compete in the NWTF Grand Nationals sound? Take part in the Yonah Invitational at the GON Outdoor Blast on Saturday, July 30 for your chance to punch your ticket. Outdoor writer Donald Devereaux Jarrett and John Browning, of Pistol Creek Game Calls, are organizing the event with an eye toward making this one of the most prestigious turkey-calling contests in the nation. There will be several divisions available for callers with more details to come next month, and you can call Donald Devereaux Jarrett at 706.473.8027.

Free Family Fun Kid’s Zone

Just like those weekends at the deer camp or on the boat we want the Outdoor Blast to be a place for the entire family. We understand the energy that builds up in a child when mom and dad are cruising the show aisle by aisle buying gear. With that in mind we have a special area where kids can get their face painted, jump on some inflatables, enjoy a shooting gallery or pull in a big fish on a simulator. While it’s not built-in child care, it will allow the kids to blow off some energy while mom and dad capture some pictures to share later.

Georgia Falconry Association

Dedicated to preserving the art and practice of falconry as well as educating the public on the conservation, management and ecology of raptors the Georgia Falconry Association will have birds of prey on display throughout the weekend. This is your chance to see these amazing birds up close and in person.
