Cody Duke with a Chattahoochee River gator that went 12 feet long and weighed about 650 pounds. He was hunting above Lake Eufaula on Aug. 18 with Killer Instinct Guide Service.

Gator season won’t officially close until Oct. 7, but this season has already been highlighted by some really big Georgia alligators and happy hunters. As we always enjoy doing in October, we show off some hunters who took the time to send in pictures and info. Unfortunately, we couldn’t get all of those photos on these two pages. It’s just been a great season!

If you’ve been a part of a successful alligator hunt, we’d like to see your photos. Drop us an email with some caption info to [email protected]. We’ll make sure to publish you in our online Trophy Room, and you may be published in a future GON magazine.

Zone 1A: Robbie Dorman, 17, of Warm Springs, with his hunting party and an 11-8 from Lake Eufaula.

Zone 7: Heather Breese, of McIntosh County, with a 10-9 coastal gator that she said had 2 feet of tail missing. The gator was blind in one eye and had plenty of scars, likely from battling other alligators.

Zone 9: Jackson Collins, 15, of Evans, with a Richmond County gator from a private pond that measured 12 feet long. It took six years to get a tag and three hours on a rod and reel before the gator could be dispatched.

Zone 2: Morgan Hayes, 15, of Shady Dale, was in a hunting party on Lake Seminole that took this 12-4 gator on Aug. 17. It weighed 450 pounds.

Dalton Drew and his dad Stevie Drew with an 11-6 gator taken in the coastal section of the Satilla River. Also pictured is nephew Jagger Drew.

Zone 8: Sawyer Hunt (left), of Clyo, Aaron Fearneyhough (right), of Harlem, and Aaron’s son, John, 14, tagged this 12-3 gator that weighed almost 650 pounds.

Zone 2: Ashley Bowlden and her son, Bentley, 12, of Pike County, were both drawn and filled tags at Lake Seminole opening weekend. Ashley killed this 12-4 lizard and Bentley took a 9-7 gator. Nice hat Ashley!

Zone 2: Tyler Allen, Wayne Allen and Liam Stamps with a 12-9 gator from opening day on Lake Seminole.

Zone 2: Brian Bohanon (left), Cliff Armstrong (far right), and Will Armstrong, 16, with a successful gator hunt from Lake Seminole on Aug. 31. To put the gator’s size into perspective, Brian is 6-3. They measured the giant dinosaur at 13 feet long.
