860 Pound Hog Killed In Telfair County

This hog is no joke. It was weighed on certified scales.

GON Staff | September 4, 2000

Believe it or not, Adam, Daniel and Tyler Williamson and Ernest Padgett caught this 860-lb. feral hog alive in Telfair County. The hog was throwing catch-dogs in the air before the men somehow tackled and tied the pig, which later died, apparently from heat stress.

The dog in the foreground, Wiley, was cut under the neck and died. The boar was weighed on certified scales at a feed mill. It measured 6-feet, 6-inches around the chest and was 8-feet, 3-inches long.
