168-Inch Bow Buck Taken In Gwinnett County

Kevin Prescott killed a Gwinnett County buck on Oct. 11 that green scored 168 inches. The entire story for the 13-pointer can been viewed on the Unruly Outdoors  YouTube channel.

Kevin had a close call with the buck in 2023, but not sealing the deal last year actually turned into a blessing since the antlers were more impressive this season.

After shooting the buck, there was some question about the shot placement. Despite great blood, the arrow, which was tipped with a G5 Megameat broadhead, didn’t have much blood on it and instead was covered in mostly hair and some meat.

Even with great blood, Kevin back out and called his good friend Jay Maxwell with 46Ten Productions to help track the buck.

“Look at the blood. You know this deer is dead,” Jay said as the two started down an unreal blood trail two hours after the shot.

As is sometimes the case when hunting suburban bucks, the deer ended up 9 yards from a road where Kevin backed his Honda Civic down and put the buck in the trunk (worth seeing on the video).

“He has more than I thought, he’s a 13, I thought he was a 12,” said Kevin. “This is the biggest deer I’ve ever killed.”

As it turned out, the Megameat broadhead took out the buck’s heart.

“He has mass, tine length, extra stuff. He has a double brow, not a split, a double brow!” said Jay

The buck was unofficially scored by Drew Carroll with Seek One, and the venison was donated to Seek One’s Venison Project.
