Lake Worth
Lake Worth, also known as Lake Chehaw, is a small reservoir at the confluence of the Flint River, Kinchafoonee Creek and Muckalee Creek. The concrete Flint River Dam was built in 1908 for hydroelectric generation and is owned by Georgia Power today. Lake Chehaw is very riverine and shallow with average depths of 17 feet. In winter, the lake is drawn down nearly 10 feet in anticipation of flooding spring rains. In the Flood of 1994, the lake overflowed its banks and the dam itself was underwater at one point.

It was in this tournament trail’s latest event, held on Andrews Lake on the Chattahoochee River, when he boated…
Fishing a crankbait during the prespawn is one of the best ways to catch quality bass. Bass are gradually pushing shallower and shallower as the water temps start to creep up. Tailraces, those current-filled areas below dams, offer just about everything possible for a positive fishing experience. Fish populations are often plentiful. Access is easy whether by boat or from land, and a social element exists among the bank fishermen, who are often shoulder to shoulder along the concrete walls that typically border the water. In…
You probably won’t ever read about Davey Allen in “Bassmaster” magazine, and you’re not going to see him on the next episode of Major League Fishing. Heck, he’s not even what you would label as a “big time” bass fisherman. But don’t let all that fool you. If you have fished small club and open…
