Lake Worth

Lake Worth, also known as Lake Chehaw, is a small reservoir at the confluence of the Flint River, Kinchafoonee Creek and Muckalee Creek. The concrete Flint River Dam was built in 1908 for hydroelectric generation and is owned by Georgia Power today. Lake Chehaw is very riverine and shallow with average depths of 17 feet. In winter, the lake is drawn down nearly 10 feet in anticipation of flooding spring rains. In the Flood of 1994, the lake overflowed its banks and the dam itself was underwater at one point.

Catch Boatload Of Drop-Shot Bass On Allatoona This Winter

Lake Allatoona, north of Atlanta, has long been known as a tough lake to fish. The deep, clear water is relatively free of natural structure, and you had better know what you are doing and where the planted brush is or you are going to have a long day with limited activity. But for those…

State Monitoring Chattahoochee Brown Trout

Fish Grass Lines For Lake Seminole Slabs

Many outdoorsmen have put their fishing tackle away for the winter and are happily resting 15 feet up in a white-oak tree this time of year. But, Mike Sloan, co-owner of Wingate’s Lodge in Bainbridge, would rather be catching limits of crappie on Lake Seminole than catching up on rest in a cold deer stand…

Light Tackle For Fall Redfish

“There’s a push. It’s a school of mullet, but maybe some reds are nearby,” Stu Apte of Islamorada, Fla. exclaimed as we quietly rounded a shallow, oyster-shell-laden point still within sight of the launch. I killed the trolling motor and my partners for the day flung flies to the shell-lined bank. My partner astern was…
