While likely best known for its world-class redbreast fishing and giant catfish, the Altamaha River offers great fishing for a wide variety of fish. In 2016, three new river records were certified by GON for the Altamaha River, including a new mark for shellcracker.
Clinton Johnson, of Brunswick, caught a pie-plate redear that weighed 2-lbs., 9-ozs. while fishing the mighty Altamaha River on May 5, 2016.
