Southeast Georgia Fishing Reports With Capt. Bert Deener – Sept. 20, 2024
Capt. Bert Deener | September 20, 2024
The bite has been good pretty much everywhere this week. Jamie Hodge had a phenomenal catch of crappie from the Altamaha River, including some fish over a pound apiece. A few other anglers had great bass catches from the river this week, as well. Trout fishing was excellent in Brunswick for an angler flinging plugs this past weekend. He had multiple trout over 3 pounds and one over 4 pounds. Keaton Beach trout were chewing this week, as Capt. Pat McGriff put his clients on limits of trout and reds on Saturday using live pinfish under Back Bay Thunder Floats. Take your pick of saltwater, rivers and small lakes this week where you fish, as the fall bite is firing off.
Last quarter moon is Sept. 24. To monitor all the Georgia river levels, visit the USGS website (waterdata.usgs.gov/ga/nwis/rt). For the latest marine forecast, check out www.weather.gov/jax/.
