Public Fishing Area Reports

Paradise PFA: Level: Most lakes remain 2 to 3 feet below full pool. Lake Horseshoe 3 is 4 feet below full pool due to winter drawdown. Water has been pumped up into Horseshoe 2. Temp: 62-64 degrees. Clarity: Clear to lightly stained.

Fair. Several anglers have made reports of bass being caught using crankbaits. Shad Raps and Rat-L-Traps have been the best choice for baits. Fish over drops in Lake Patrick and deeper water along dams and around drain structures.

Crappie: Good. Crappie are biting in 3 to 4 feet of water using 1/32- to 1/16-oz. float-rigged jigs. Crappie have been hitting blue-and-white and black-and-green jigs in Lake Tacklebuster, Patrick, and Horseshoe 5.

Bream: Slow. Bream fishing has been somewhat slow. The best baits have been red wigglers and pond worms fished just off the bottom at 4 to 6 foot depths. A few big redear have been caught from Lake Patrick and Bobben using red wigglers.
