Paradise PFA Fishing Report – September 2009

GON Staff | August 25, 2009

Paradise Public Fishing Area: Levels: 6 to 12 inches below full pool. Temp: 84 degrees. Clarity: Lightly stained; 24 inches visibility on Lake Patrick.

Fair. Texas-rigged, black plastic worms continue to do well. Fish just off the edges of the weed lines during early morning periods. Work it slow. Switch to crankbaits by mid morning, and concentrate on deeper water. Anglers have reported taking 3- to 4-lb. bass from the trench on the east bank of Lake Patrick by trolling Rat-L-Traps at about 8-foot depths. In late September bass action should shift mostly to shoreline cover. Spinnerbaits and topwater lures typically prove to be the bait of choice after water temps drop into the 70s.

On Sept. 26, the JAKES/Outdoor Adventure Day will be held at Paradise. Lakes Cup and Saucer will be open to kids 15 years of age and younger. In addition on this day, Lake Horseshoe 6 will also be open to all anglers from sunrise to sunset.
