Paradise PFA Fishing Report – November 2010

GON Staff | October 29, 2010

Paradise PFA: Level: Most lakes 12-18 inches below full pool. Temp: 74 degrees. Clarity: Most lakes are slightly stained. Visibility on Lake Patrick is 36 inches.

Bass:
Fair. Several anglers have reported good results using crankbaits in lakes Patrick, Russell and Bobben. Shad Raps and Rat-L-Traps have been the best choice of baits. Fish them over drops and deeper water along dams and around drain structures. Concentrate on deeper water 20 to 30 yards out from the shoreline.

Crappie:
Good. Crappie are biting in 3 to 4 feet of water using 1/32- to 1/16-oz. float-rigged tube jigs. Crappie are hitting blue-and-white, green-and-white and black-and-green jigs in lakes Tacklebuster, Patrick and Horseshoe 4.

Catfish: Good. Best bet is to fish deep water using mullet gut for bait. Lakes Cup, Saucer and Horseshoe 6 are presently open but will be closed once they are restocked in preparation for the spring fishing events. Some 6-lb.-plus catfish are still being caught from the pier in Lake Patrick.

Bream:
Fair. Red wigglers and crickets are the most common bait, with crickets being the No. 1 choice. Lakes Patrick, Bobben, Tacklebuster, Russell and Horseshoe 1 have been the best for bluegill. Good hand-size redear are also being caught in Lake Patrick. Fish in 4 to 6 feet of water with the bait suspended just off the bottom. Cast around fallen trees and heavy cover for best results.
