Lake Tobesofkee Fishing Report May 2015

GON Staff | April 30, 2015

Tobesofkee: Bass: Tournament angler Clayton Batts reports, “Bass are in all three phases of the spawn right now with most of the fish being postspawn. Look for these fish to start feeding up to recover from the spawn. Fish the shad spawn first thing in the morning around rip-rap banks and main-lake grassbeds. These fish can be caught on a variety of baits as long as you see the shad up on the bank. The best baits for me on Tobesofkee during the shad spawn are a white Strikezone Lure Master Blaster spinnerbait, a white Spro frog and a white Secret Lures swim jig with a pearl Big Bite Baits Cane Thumper. These fish can still be caught throughout the day after the shad spawn around isolated brush, docks and grass. I prefer a slower presentation after the sun gets high. Slow down, and fish these areas with a Big Bite Baits finesse worm in green pumpkin or black/blue depending on the water color.”
