Lake Tobesofkee Fishing Report – May 2010

GON Staff | April 27, 2010

Tobesofkee: Level: Full pool. Temp: 70-72 degrees. Clarity: Clear.

Bass:
Good. “Some fish are still on the beds,” said Clayton Batts. “Throw a Big Bite Baits lizard in junebug around spawning areas, and sight fish the beds with a white Big Bite Baits Fighting Frog or a green-pumpkin tube. In May, look for the fish to move off of the beds and get in any brush around docks and seawalls. Fish a Big Bite Baits finesse worm in redbug around any brush and docks, and dead stick in the brush until you get bit. The topwater bite should start around the middle of May in main-lake grass. By the end of May, look for the nighttime bite to start being the dominant bite with all the lake traffic. Fish any brush that you can find in the 6- to 8-foot range with a light Carolina rig or a Texas rig.” Note: Wednesday-night tournaments start the first Wednesday in May.
