Lake Tobesofkee Fishing Report – March 2010
Tobesofkee: Level: Full pool. Temp: 52-54 degrees. Clarity: Muddy.
Clayton Batts reports, “It’s been tough with all the muddy water, but it’s improving. Fish have been biting early around rip-rap on the main lake on a Spro Little John crankbait in citrus shad and a firetiger Shad Rap crankbait. After the sun gets up, fish a Spro K-finesse jig and a Spro Aruku Shad lipless crankbait around seawalls that are close to spawning areas and in the backs of pockets. Look for more fish to move up to get ready for the spawn. Cover as much water as possible by throwing a search bait like a Spro Aruku Shad until you find fish, and then slow down with a Texas rig. You should be able to see some fish on bed by the end of March if the water ever clears up. Start throwing a Big Bite Baits Pro Lizard in green pumpkin if the water is clear and junebug if the water stays stained. If the water is still muddy and you can’t see them, fish the lizard very slow around the grassbeds and the back sides of the docks.”
