Lake Tobesofkee Fishing Report February 2012

GON Staff | February 1, 2012

Tobesofkee: Temp: Low to mid 50s. Clarity: Lightly stained.

Bass:
Very good, according to tournament pro Clayton Batts. “The lake is fishing great right now with all the warm weather. The two best bites going are jig and crankbait bites. Fish a black/blue Spro K-finesse jig teamed up with a green-pumpkin Big Bite Baits chunk around rocky areas leading back into the pockets and around dock posts in the same areas. The crankbait bite has been improving and is a great search bait with all the different weather we are getting. This weather is making the fish move a lot, and a crankbait is a great way to find them and then slow down with the jig. Fish a Stanford Lures Razor Shad in citrus or summer shad around seawalls and rip-rap. After you work the front of the pockets with the Razor Shad, throw a Stanford Lures patriot shad in the middle of the pockets in the very back. Some of the fish have been moving to the backs of the pockets when the water warms up.”
