Lake Tobesofkee Fishing Report – August 2009

GON Staff | July 30, 2009

Tobesofkee: Level: Full pool. Temp: 86-88 degrees. Clarity: Clear.

Bass: Fair. Clayton Batts reports, “There is a decent topwater bite early and late on a Spro Hydro Pop around grass and seawalls that are close to deep water. When the sun comes up, fish Tobesofkee’s numerous docks with a Big Bite Baits Biobait finesse worm in green pumpkin or redbug with a 1/16-oz. Fintwist shaky head. The other option is to throw a Fat Free Shad crankbait in foxy shad on points with 10-lb. GAMMA fluorocarbon line. Fish the very tips of the points where they drop off into deep water. If you feel brush with the crankbait, throw a Carolina rig with a green-pumpkin finesse worm, and let it soak in the thickest part of the brush. The best bite has been at night. Fish any brush you can find around docks or seawalls with a Texas-rigged finesse worm, and cover as much water as you can, but fish it thoroughly.”
