Lake Tobesofkee Fishing Report April 2014

GON Staff | March 28, 2014

Tobesofkee: Level: Full pool. Temp: 53 to 59 degrees. Clarity: Stained.

Bass:
Tournament angler Clayton Batts reports, “The lake is stained with all the recent rain, but the bass fishing has been good. Look for fish moving up and getting ready to spawn. Fish the dead grass that is in the pockets with a black/blue Secret Lures swim jig and a chartreuse/white spinnerbait. Fish the docks in these pockets with a Big Bite Baits Yomama in hematoma. As the lake begins to clear and the month moves along, look for the fish to be in the backs of the pockets or on any sand patches that are in the pockets. If the water is clear enough, you will be able to sight fish with a white or green-pumpkin Big Bite Baits Fighting Frog. If the lake is still stained, you will be able to fish a dark-colored Big Bite Baits lizard in these same areas. Make multiple casts to the same areas, and if you get a bite, be sure to throw back in the same place.”
