Lake Tobesofkee Fishing Report April 2011

GON Staff | March 30, 2011

Tobesofkee: Level: Full pool. Temp: Mid 60s. Clarity: Stained.

Bass: Excellent. Clayton Batts reports, “The spawn is in full swing with beds in most pockets on the lake. Look for beds in the spawning pockets around grass, docks and seawalls on the south end of the lake. It takes a little time on most of these fish, but they can be caught. Have a variety of baits ready to see which one they will react to the best. The main baits that I have been catching them on is a white Big Bite Baits fighting frog, a Big Bite Baits green-pumpkin tube and a lizard in either green pumpkin, white or junebug. The north end has been a little stained, and you will not be able to see the beds. Buzz a topwater frog or buzzbait over their heads to get a reaction strike from these fish that you can’t see. Have that same lizard rigged up in case they miss your buzzbait or frog because more then likely they are guarding a bed even though you can’t see it. This pattern will only get better the month of April and especially around the new and full moons.”
