Lake Tobesofkee Fishing Report – April 2009

GON Staff | March 24, 2009

Tobesofkee: Level: Full pool. Temp: 65-68 degrees. Clarity: Stained but clearing.

Bass:
Clayton Batts reports, “Some fish are already on the bed, but most of them are still staging for the spawn. Look for these staging fish around the corners of docks and along isolated cover around seawalls. Flip a black/blue Spro Finesse jig around the corners of the docks and a Big Bite Baits junebug 6-inch finesse worm on a shaky head under the docks on bright bluebird days. Throw a Spro Little John around the seawalls to cover water, and bump off any cover. The next big wave of fish will move into spawn around April 9. Look for beds on the backsides of docks, in the backs of pockets and around shoreline grass. These fish can be caught by flipping a variety of baits into the beds or by blind casting. The three baits that I have had most success with while bed fishing at Tobesofkee are a Big Bite Baits Pro Lizard in white or junebug, a Spro Finesse Jig in white or black/blue with a green-pumpkin chunk and a Lucky Craft jerkbait.”
