Lake Nottely Fishing Report – May 2020

GON Staff | April 30, 2020

Nottely: Level: 2.2 feet low. Temp: 58-63 degrees. Clarity: The water is stained in the river and the creeks.

Linesides: Guide Jeremy Seabolt reports, “The fish have finally started chasing and eating big baits. Most are heading into creeks and up the river. We have been doing good up in the creeks pulling large shad shallow on the banks and on long points. In mid mornings, we have been catching a lot of smaller fish downlining in the middle of creeks. Fish have been holding on a 20- to 30-foot bottom in the bends of creeks. The main key right now is finding balls of bait. We also have a good u-rig bite going on. Going into May, the fish should move up in the shallower water. I feel like we are about three weeks off from where we were last year, so I think we will have a good May for pulling big shad and herring. We should see some big fish in May, and the topwater bite should start in a few more weeks. Don’t forget to stop by the Bait Shack on Nottely for all your big live bait needs.”
