Lake Nottely Fishing Report – October 2017

GON Staff | September 28, 2017

Nottely: Level: 7.3 feet low. Temp: 73-76 degrees. Clarity: Clear.

Stripers: Guide Jeremy Seabolt reports, “September is one of my favorite times of the year. The water has started cooling down, and the fish are on the move chasing schools of bait. September and October are two of the best months to chase stripers on topwater. We have been catching fish on topwater around Point 6 all way to the dam. The best bite has been at first light and in the afternoons with a fluke and a 3/8-oz. bucktail. We have also been doing good on freelines, and after the fog lifts, we have been finding fish on long points and humps and dropping baits down 20 to 40 feet deep. Midday we have been catching fish on lead-core line eight colors back and on u-rigs 140 feet back. In October, the topwater should explode, and we should be back to catching lots of good fish.”
