Lake Nottely Fishing Report – October 2010

GON Staff | September 29, 2010

Nottely: Level: 7.6 feet below full pool. Temp: 77-81 degrees. Clarity: Clear; 4 feet visibility.

Spotted Bass: Eric Crowley reports, “Some nice spots have been caught down by the dam on topwater. You will see them there crashing baits in the afternoon.”

Linesides:
Eric reports, “The topwater bite is steady in the early morning all over the lake from the main islands at mid lake to Conley Creek and Poteet Creek. Circle the island of your choice, and there will be fish somewhere within 100 feet of it. The area in front of the main beach is holding fish. Gizz 4 shallow crankbaits or Zara Spooks have been getting lots of attention from these fish. Sometimes just throwing these baits out and letting them float on top will draw a hit. These little fish are super charged in the mornings and hit with lots of force, sometimes two or three at a time. As the morning bite slows and they quit feeding on top, try split-shots on a flatlines let way out with live bluebacks. Watch your sonar, and look for the spaghetti under the boat. Work this area with the live baits.”
