Lake Nottely Fishing Report – March 2023

GON Staff | March 1, 2023

Nottely: Level: 12.6 feet below 1775. Temp: 58-60 degrees. Clarity: Various stages of stain.

Stripers: Guide Jeremy Seabolt, of Lake Nottely Fishing Charter, reports, “The main lake is kind of stained, and the creeks are heavily stained, but that’s not slowing the stripers down. We have been catching fish all different kinds of ways. The best bite has been on shad and freelined herring pulling up on humps and points. In the midday, we have been finding some fish out over 30-foot humps and downlining herring right off the bottom. It’s only going to get better from here on. March is a good time to catch a trophy striper. We will be bringing out the planer boards and big shad. It’s one of my most favorite ways to fish. March is also a good time to catch crappie. We have been catching some of the biggest crappie I have seen. Run by The Bait Shack on Nottely and get your striper candy and go catch some fish.”
