Lake Nottely Fishing Report June 2011

GON Staff | May 26, 2011

Nottely: Level: Full pool. Temp: Low 70s. Clarity: Crystal clear.

Linesides: Very good. Jeremy Seabolt said the striper bite is on fire, with a good schooling bite in the morning. The best fishing has been between points one and four. Up until about 8:30 or 9 a.m., Jeremy has been catching fish on freelined bluebacks and threadfins. Then he is switching over to downlines on a 1-oz. sinker at 15 to 20 feet deep over humps in the 30-foot range. Jeremy said he is catching some good fish with an average in the 12- to 15-lb. range. He has also caught a good number of bigger fish ranging up to 25 pounds. As water temperatures warm, the downline bite will become even more important, and Jeremy will also start pulling more umbrella rigs between 75 and 120 feet back at 1 1/2 to 2 mph. He likes bucktails with green trailers and gizzard shad swimbaits on his U-rigs.
