Lake Nottely Fishing Report – July 2024

GON Staff | June 26, 2024

Nottely: Level: 1.6 feet above 1775 Temp: 82 degrees. Clarity: Clear.

Stripers: Guide Jeremy Seabolt, of Lake Nottely Fishing Charter, reports “We have been catching some nice fish and good numbers. Most of the fish have been holding in the creeks and on humps. They are keyed-in on large herring and small shad. The best bite is the first few hours of the morning while pulling planer boards. After that, switch over to downlines and pulling u-rigs. By the time y’all are reading this, most of the fish will be pulling into deeper water. July is the time to have a good fish finder. We will be fishing a 40-foot deep or deeper bottom. Most of the fish will come on downlines or trolling. The best places to start looking for fish will be from Point 5 to the dam. July can be a sweet month. It is not uncommon to have a 20-fish trip. The water is heating up, so that means the fish can get stressed. Try not to handle them too much or fight them any longer than necessary. You can also keep up with us for a weekly fishing picture on Facebook. Happy fishing, and good luck. Don’t forget The Bait Shack has all your live-bait needs.”
