Lake Nottely Fishing Report – July 2023

GON Staff | June 29, 2023

Nottely: Level: 1.9 feet above 1775 Temp: 73-75 degrees. Clarity: Clear.

Stripers: Guide Jeremy Seabolt, of Lake Nottely Fishing Charter, reports,  “With the water staying cool, it has kept the fish up shallow for an extra few weeks. So, we have been catching most fish on planer boards and freelines. Fish are still holding up on shallow points and humps up until mid morning. Then, we have been going to downlines and fishing over a 40-foot bottom dropping baits down 20 to 30 feet deep with herring. The trolling bite has started picking up every day. We have been catching fish on the big and small u-rigs. Going into July, we will start chasing fish into the deeper waters. We should start seeing the fish schooling in the deeper water. I’d say by mid July to start looking for schooling fish to show up from Points 6 to the north end of the lake. The key to catching fish up here in the summer is to find the fish in good water. Don’t be lazy, so change your baits out every five or so minutes if you are not catching fish. The Bait Shack has all your herring needs to have a stellar day on the water.”
