Lake Nottely Fishing Report – July 2019

GON Staff | June 25, 2019

Nottely: Level: Full pool. Temp: 76-78 degrees. Clarity: Clear on the main lake but stained in the river and mid creeks.

Linesides: Guide Jeremy Seabolt reports, “We have still been catching fish a lot ways. We still catch fish on boards and freelines until the sun gets up. At that time, it’s time to put the Lowrance to work. We are starting to see some nice schools of fish schooled up on humps and points. The fish mid morning are holding around 20 to 25 feet deep on a 40-foot bottom. We have been downlining large herring, and they’re going crazy on them. The fish have been moving fast, so as soon as you get on them, you better have bait down and keep moving to follow the fish. Going into July, the fish should be moved on out of the creeks and getting ready to start setting up on their summer patterns. Start looking for fish to be schooling up in the deeper water of the river and creek channels. July can be a good month for catching numbers, but don’t forget the warmer water makes it harder on the fish. Get them up to the boat, and get them released fast so you don’t stress them out.”
