Lake Nottely Fishing Report – January 2020

GON Staff | December 31, 2019

Nottely: Level: 12.3 feet low. Temp: 51-54 degrees. Clarity: The river and creeks are stained.

Stripers: Guide Jeremy Seabolt reports, “We have been catching more of our fish mid lake and halfway back in the creeks over a 20- to 40-foot bottom on downlines. Mid morning we are switching over to u-rigs and pulling them 75 to 115 feet back clipping humps and points. The big thing right now is finding the bait, and the fish will be not far behind. We have been catching a few fish throwing a Red Fin and a bucktail and working them slow. Going into January, if it turns colder, we should start seeing birds, and then the threadfins may start to die off in the backs of the creeks. Then we will be working smaller baits and small spoons and jigs. Don’t forget the Bait Shack has all your bait needs.”
