Lake Nottely Fishing Report – January 2019

GON Staff | December 23, 2018

Nottely: Level: 13.7 feet low. Temp: Mid 50s. Clarity: River and creeks are stained.

Linesides: Guide Jeremy Seabolt reports, “Fishing has been good. We have been catching fish all kinds of ways. Shad and large herring on freelines have been working good for the first three to four hours of light. Then we have been pulling u-rigs and downlining herring over humps and up in the creeks midday. There are some nice schools fish when you find them. Going into January, we will be doing the same as now, planers and downlines. However, in January you need to find the bait. The fish won’t be far from the bait. January is also a good time to be throwing Redfins and working them as slow as you can with a jerk about every 10 feet. You can find fish up shallow in the morning and just work out to deeper water as the day goes on. Follow the bait, and watch for schools of fish.”
