Lake Nottely Fishing Report – December 2019

GON Staff | November 22, 2019

Nottely: Level: 11.6 feet low. Temp: 56-69 degrees. Clarity: Clear.

Linesides: Guide Jeremy Seabolt reports, “Our boats have been catching fish mid-lake and in the creeks from Points 6 all way up around Points 9. The key to catching stripers this time year is getting out and finding the water temps the bait and fish are holding to. Most of the fish are holding over a 20- to 40-foot bottom. We have been starting out pulling herring and shad in the mouths of creeks to mid way back in the creeks. Then by mid morning, we have been changing over to downlines and pulling u-rigs out over the deeper water. The fish are feeding up for the winter. All the small fish we were catching back in the summer are getting some fat bellies on them. Some days we are seeing some topwater action, so keep a fluke or some kind of topwater bait ready. Going into December, we will be looking for the warmer water and pulling boards up in the shallow waters that the sun warms. We will still be fishing a lot of the same places we are now. Don’t forget the Bait Shack has all your striper candy. We will have shad, herring and trout starting in December.”
