Lake Nottely Fishing Report – August 2019

GON Staff | July 24, 2019

Nottely: Level: 0.6 feet above full. Temp: 85-88 degrees. Clarity: Clear.

Linesides: Guide Jeremy Seabolt reports, “We are getting set up on the summertime patterns. The fish have started moving out over deeper water. We have been catching fish on 25- to 60-foot bottoms, but the fish are holding close to the bottom, so good electronics are a must to finding fish this time year. Downlining herring on a 2-oz. sinker and 6 to 12 feet of fluorocarbon leader is the ticket for catching fish. The u-rig bite is getting stronger by the day. Pull it 115 to 145 feet back. Lead core is getting lots of fish being pulled six to nine colors. I am using 1-oz. bucktails. Going into August, we will move out into deeper water. Remember to get the fish in, get a picture, and get them back down ASAP so you don’t stress them out as bad.”
