Lake Nottely Fishing Report – April 2020

GON Staff | March 27, 2020

Nottely: Level: 7 feet below full pool. Temp: 57-61 degrees. Clarity: The main lake is clear. The creeks and river are stained.

Linesides: Guide Jeremy Seabolt reports, “The month of March has been sweet. We have been catching fish about every way you can, but the best bite has been on shad and large herring. We have been starting out shallow and working out to the deep. Most of the fish are holding on the deep drops of the points in the creeks. We have also been catching fish on downlines and weighted freelines mid-morning. We are starting to catch fish on Red Fins and bucktails by working them slowly on the sunny sides of points. The Mini Mack’s have also been on fire. We are catching lots of fish pulling them 130 to 180 feet back at 1.5 to 2.5 mile hour. Going into April, it’s probably one of my most favorite times of the year to fish. The big fish are showing up and eating big shad. It is the best time to catch trophy-sized fish. We will still be fishing the creeks but will get a little more aggressive pulling baits. The Bait Shack has all your shad and herring needs.”
