Lake Nottely Fishing Report – April 2008

GON Staff | March 25, 2008

Nottely: Level: 5.8 feet below full pool. Temp: Mid 50s. Clarity: The main lake is clear, but the backs of the creeks are stained.

Bass:
Crankbaits, jerkbaits and spinnerbaits are the best baits in April for the mountain lakes, said Daniel Workman. Look for wind-blown points with a mudline, and throw a Shad Rap or Bandit 100 across the muddy water. A jerkbait like a Pointer 100 on the main-lake points is a good bet for spotted bass. Allow long pauses before ripping the bait a few feet. For largemouths, target brush and blowdowns back in the creeks with a spinnerbait, jig ’n pig or fluke.
