Lake Hartwell Fishing Report October 2015

GON Staff | September 30, 2015

Hartwell: Level: 4.8 feet below full pool. Temp: Mid 70s. Clarity: Main lake is clear and creeks are stained.

Bass: Tournament angler Kerry Partain reports, “The bass seem to be in the typical fall pattern with baitfish moving back into the creeks and shallow on the main lake. The points and humps with baitfish are the key to catching the numbers, but the bigger fish seem to be shallower. This time of year I focus most of my attention on schooling fish, and once you locate them, cast Zoom Super Flukes and topwater plugs right on top of the fish. As always, you need to keep your eyes on your electronics to determine the best water depth as you run from spot to spot. You can also catch a bunch of spotted bass right now on a drop shot and a Carolina rig, especially around brush.”
