Lake Hartwell Fishing Report – December 2023

GON Staff | November 29, 2023

Hartwell: Level: 7.3 feet below 660. Temp: 60-62 degrees. Clarity: Clearing.

Bass: Tournament angler Kerry Partain reports, “The fishing has been slow for most of us the last few weeks as the lake is still turning over. We finally got some rain, so hopefully December will be a full-blown slugfest just in time for the ON’EM Tournament. I expect to see some big bags show up as the baitfish have started to bunch up in the feeder creeks and off the timber ledges. Once I find a concentration of fish with my Lowrance electronics, I will use a jigging spoon and a jig with a Zoom twin-tail grub.  The A-rig and the Fish Head Spin will also be a player in December, and they can catch some big ones. I am also excited to try out my glide baits from Southern Hook Lures and Kamikaze because man do those things sure look good.”
