Lake Hartwell Fishing Report – December 2022

GON Staff | November 28, 2022

Hartwell: Level: 5.7 feet below 660. Temp: 55-60 degrees. Clarity: 2 to 6 feet.

Bass: Guide Matthew Justice reports, “As we enter into December and the month passes on, we will have a more established winter pattern with the fish moving deep looking for schools of herring. Look for baitfish in 20 to 40 feet of water around ambush areas (drop-offs, points and creek channels). Once you’ve located a productive area, fishing football jigs and underspins is sure to get the school fired up. A shallow crankbait bite is still going strong, as well. Look for dirty water and fish rocks and brush in 5 to 10 feet of water.”
