Lake Hartwell Fishing Report December 2012

GON Staff | November 28, 2012

Hartwell: Level: 14.9 feet below full pool. Temp: 60-62 degrees. Clarity: Clear.

Bass:
Tournament angler Kerry Partain reports, “The fishing has improved as the baitfish have moved into creeks and main pockets, and the bass are feeding up. The birds are just beginning to show up, so it’s always a good idea to follow them and see what areas of the lake they are keying on. Most of the fish are very active, so use a Zoom Super Fluke either weightless or on a Pulse jig. Keep an eye on your electronics as you troll around, and drop a jigging spoon or drop shot on any fish you see. As the weather begins to cool, expect the baitfish and bass to bunch up more, and bigger fish can be caught and a lot of them.”
