Lake Eufaula Fishing Report – September 2023

GON Staff | August 30, 2023

Eufaula: Level: 1.4 feet below 188. Temp: 92 degrees. Clarity: Clear to a good stain.

Bass: Capt. Sam Williams, of Hawks Fishing Guide Service, reports, “In areas where you find floating pads or vegetation, flukes, frogs in the cover or poppers around the cover will get strikes very early or just before dark. Shallow squarebill cranks in threadfin patterns have been very productive around any rock structure.”

Multiple Species: Capt. Sam Williams reports, “Crappie are holding on deeper cover, and minnow-tipped jigs are really doing well. Shellcracker are in deeper water and eating wigglers. Bluegill continue to hold near blowdowns and cover on the creek banks. Crickets are your better choice here. Catfish have moved deeper to find cooler water. Lengthen your jugs and bait with cutbait or stir-fry strips. Bottom fishermen can also try nightcrawlers. God has provided us a beautiful playground, enjoy it. Pray for each other and all our folks and their families in uniform.” For more on the Lee King Memorial Bass Tournament, go to www.alclassic.com.
