Lake Eufaula Fishing Report September 2015

GON Staff | August 26, 2015

Eufaula: Level: 1.7 feet below the 190 full pool. Temp: Mid to upper 80s. Clarity: Some stain.

Bass:
Tournament angler Les Bratcher reports, “The fishing on Eufaula has slowed somewhat, but there are some nice bags still being caught. It took more than 18 pounds to win a recent Eufaula Bass Trail Saturday, and it took 26 pounds the month before. The bass are scattered in all types of cover from shallow to deep. Tournament anglers report frogs are producing early, and jigs and plastics on the ledges are working well right now, too. If there is current, a big, deep-diving crankbait on the ledges is the ticket. The best bite seems to be in the morning with it getting slow during the heat of the day. The fall is just around the corner, and cooler temps should make things interesting around all the hydrilla on the south end.” Guide Sam Williams reports, “The shoreline cover is full and plentiful, and it is loaded with baitfish. Bass are working shallow on this cover early and late. When this bite is over, move to deep, where Carolina-rigged worms, heavy Texas-rigged lizards and crankbaits are working.”
