Lake Eufaula Fishing Report – September 2009

GON Staff | August 25, 2009

Eufaula: Level: 1.4 feet below full pool. Temp: High 80s. Clarity: Clear to light stain.

Bass:
Good. Billy Darby said the fish are stacking up on high spots from the causeway down to White Oak Creek when they are pulling water. The main-river ledges are doing well also. This is a crankbait bite. Billy suggested a Mann’s 20+ or any other crankbait that gets to 20 feet and deeper. When they’re not moving water, Billy said brushpiles with a Texas rig in 12 to 14 feet of water is working.

Catfish:
Excellent. “We’re having a catfish explosion,” Billy said. Fish shallow flats early and late, and then move to 12- to 14-foot humps in the middle of the day. Shrimp fished on the bottom has been the best bait.
