Lake Eufaula Fishing Report – October 2018

GON Staff | September 26, 2018

Eufaula: Level: 0.8 feet below 190 full pool. Temp: Upper 80s. Clarity: Light stain.

Bass: Guide Sam Williams reports, “Steady water levels are keeping the early lily pad bite active for you topwater fishermen. Weightless flukes are doing well, as the frog has been seen so much by the bass over the summer. Jigs and Trick Worms around the edges of cover are a good choice, as well. Blade baits on top are getting a quality bite early, too. Deep fish are holding on trashpiles and ledge structure in 12 to 20 feet of water. Big, deep crankbaits are your best bet here, especially when there’s current, or try heavy jigs. The jig needs to be worked slow through the targeted areas to annoy the bass into a strike. Also try a Carolina rig, and fish it slow.”
