Lake Eufaula Fishing Report – June 2025
GON Staff | May 28, 2025
Eufaula: Level: 0.5 feet above 188. Temp: 82 degrees. Clarity: Stained.
Bass: Capt. Sam Williams, with Hawks Fishing Guide Service, reports, “The water level is still holding steady. The shallow bite is getting better by the day. Where you can find pads and grass, the frog has come into play again. Blade baits are also getting attention. Texas-rigged soft plastics are working along the edges. Senkos and Trick Worms in red shad and black and blue plus watermelon candy are good colors to work. The deeper bass are scattered near natural and man-made structure. Use lipped crankbaits geared for the depth you find bass in. Shad colors and sexy shad have been good, and the blue-backed crystal glow finish is good on a sunny day. Jigs with creature-bait trailers in pearl or white with the tails dipped in J.J.’s Magic chartreuse scented dip are doing well, too. Throw a lipless crank where you find shad action. Use a bait with a threadfin dot on the sides.”
Jake Maddux, with Guiding and Advanced Electronics Trips, reports, “June is my favorite month on Lake Eufaula. You can catch plenty of big fish shallow, but my favorite way to target summer bass is finding offshore schools. I spend most of my time behind the wheel idling around with my electronics to find schools of bass. These schools vary from five- to six-fish schools all the way to 100-fish schools. My bait of choice is an IMA Pinjack and a Deps Korrigan 450 Magnum for 8- to 12-foot schools. For deeper schools, I always have a 10XD, a 5/8-oz. hand-tied hair jig and a 1/2- to 3/4-oz. football jig with a Big Bite Baits Ramtail trailer. I also will incorporate a Magnum Flutter Spoon and a large blade bait when the fish suspend off the ledge.”

Multiple Species: Capt. Sam Williams, with Hawks Fishing Guide Service, reports, “Crappie are holding on the ledges with the warmer water. Minnows are the trick. Panfish are hanging on the banks near the cover and overhanging bushes. Crickets and wigglers will get you a good mess for the table. Shellcrackers are scattered. If you can locate the muscle beds, there are usually some there. Wigglers will work, and Beetle Spins with a black with chartreuse-striped body are also a great bait to use. Cats are always a good bet this time of year. Jugs are fun baited with cutbait or stir-fry strips. Up in the creeks are the best places to jug fish on windy days. Bottom fishing is a good way to spend a lazy day on the water. Find a shade tree to put your boat under and throw a crawler out over a creek ledge. Bank fishermen can find the shade and enjoy the same fun time in God’s great outdoors. Remember to pray for all our folks in uniform and their families as they go out to protect us each day. Follow God’s command and love one another.”
