Lake Eufaula Fishing Report July 2012

GON Staff | June 27, 2012

Eufaula: Level: 0.8 feet below full pool. Temp: Low to mid 80s. Clarity: Slight stain on the north end; clear with 3 to 5 feet visibility on south end.

Bass: Good. Capt. Sam Williams reports, “There are plenty of grass and pads for early morning cover, and the ledge fishing is getting back like the old days. If we eat some of the smaller bass, the balance will get back to normal. The early morning topwater bite has been good, and the longer the sun stays behind the clouds, the longer the bite lasts. The ledge fishing has been producing numbers. Otho Sanders, from Albany, Ga., told me he went to one of his old ledge spots during the Lee King tournament and stayed all day. They caught a limit before 10 a.m. and culled the rest of the day. Crankbaits, Carolina rigs and jigs did the trick.”

Bream: Good. Sam said, “Panfish are doing good on worms and crickets around the edges where you find pads, grass or blowdowns.”
