Lake Eufaula Fishing Report January 2012

GON Staff | December 29, 2011

Eufaula: Level: 2.7 feet below full pool. Temp: Low to mid 50s. Clarity: Good stain.

Bass: Good. Sam Williams said bass are hitting jigs and Texas rigs in green and purple colors. “Lipless and lipped crankbaits are also doing the trick. Trolling these fairly fast on top of ledge drops is producing. Bouncing spinnerbaits works also. Dress warm in layers so you can shed clothes as the morning warms up. With hunting season in full force, the lake is wide open to the serious fisherman.”

Crappie: Good. “Crappie are up and hitting well on trolling rigs in the morning,” Sam said.

Catfish: “Cats are still biting, and if you troll a lipless bait close to the bottom early to mid morning, the cats will nail it,” Sam said.
