Lake Eufaula Fishing Report – April 2019

GON Staff | March 25, 2019

Eufaula: Level: 1.4 feet below 190 full pool. Temp: Upper 60s. Clarity: Light stain.

Bass: Tournament pro Les Bratcher, of Big Bite Baits, #bigbitebaits #alxrods said the bass are full on moving shallow. “The fishing has been tremendous this spring, with some huge weights during tournaments and lots of really big bass. They were hanging off a little deeper, but most of the bass have made a big move. Everything is in springtime mode. The water is stained, so you’re not going to see bedding fish, but just fish your jigs and plastics slow in the right areas. Postspawn bass will hit squarebill crankbaits and ChatterBaits. Hit the grasslines and back in the pockets.” Guide Sam Williams reports, “Bass are being caught on cover. Crankbaits and Carolina rigs are working for bass still staying in deeper water. Lizards are beginning to be effective for bass that have moved shallow. Shallow crankbaits near wood on the banks are getting good fish. Senkos and ChatterBaits are working on shore cover in 2 to 6 feet of water.”
