Lake Blue Ridge Fishing Report – October 2010

GON Staff | September 29, 2010

Blue Ridge: Level: 51 feet below full pool. The deep drawdown for dam repairs continues. The only available ramp is at Blue Ridge Marina. Temp: High 70s. Clarity: Clear.

Bass: Tough. John Hembry said everyone is waiting for cooler weather to get Blue Ridge started. Once it turns on, the low water should have the fish concentrated for an awesome bite. Right now, there has been a late-evening and night bite for spots and smallies with crankbaits on rocky banks and points. Look for areas where the once-submerged stumps are starting to show above the water, and throw a Shad Rap or a Deep Little N.

Walleye:
John said there are a few good walleye starting to show up for people trolling deep-running crankbaits. The walleye bite should really turn on soon, and a jigging spoon off deeper points should work.
