Lake Blue Ridge Fishing Report May 2014

GON Staff | April 30, 2014

Blue Ridge: Level: 2.3 feet below full pool. Temp: 60 degrees. Clarity: Clear.

Bass: Guide Eric Crowley reports, “The smallmouth bite on Blue Ridge has been hit and miss with the cold fronts we have had. On warm cloudy days, it’s been pretty good, but as the cool air pushes in, the bite shuts down for a day or two. As the temps come up, the bronzeback acrobats will really start to feed on the surface. The best bite has been on a pearl-colored Wild Goby on a Scrounger head fished on any roadbed, white rock structure or large chunk-rock point. When the herring start to spawn, I’ll switch to a weightless setup and go with the blue-bone color Wild Goby.”
